La Dolce Vita

Today is a play date day, and we decided to head over to the aquarium and let the kids get some beans out while enjoying some aquatic life. Well, there was field trip congregation of mostly middle school students that clogged the main exhibits of the aquarium. So, we mad a mad dash for the large three story tank, and let the kids have some fun. E loves running down the ramps at alarming speeds, stopping every once and a while to get a glimpse of the fishies. We then headed over to the dolphin show, E's favorite! The kids shared an apple and clapped to cheer our dorsal finned friends on. Afterwards, we made it over to lunch and then happened to be in little Italy on our way back to the car, so we stopped for some yummy gelato from Vaccaros. DELISH. Ah, la dolce vita! Enjoy some pics! xoxo

Dealing with it

Today was supposed to be E's second birthday party, but it was postponed due to rainy weather! Thank goodness, because it is awful out. So, instead, we had a relaxed morning. E slept in till 8:15am! We leisurely made breakfast while singing and dancing, why not? We then decided to do some spring cleaning on the second floor. E was playing in his room and Brian and I were in the office, cleaning. I was going through some paperwork that was on my desk and Brian was going through his desk. I discovered two things tucked in the corner my desk. It was a sonogram picture and E's "big brother" shirt. Ugh. When I lost the baby in December, I had no idea what to do with these two things. None. On the advice of friends and Brian, I put them aside and never really did anything with them. I never dealt with them.
So naturally, after the terribly emotional week I have had, seeing these two things just made my heart ache. I shed some tears, stared at the sonogram for a good five minutes. I held up the adorable shirt and was sad E never got to wear it to surprise our family. It was pretty stinking cute. I took the shirt and placed it in the goodwill pile. I took the sonogram picture and put it with my sonogram pictures from my pregnancy with E. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away.
It has been a challenging four months. Lots of whys and what ifs. Today, we decided that they are done, no more. Today, I feel, was the last lingering piece that needed to be dealt with.

I have to share a conversation I overheard between E and Brian this week:

E: Megan has a baby in her belly!
B: I know! That is Nate's little sister!
E: Yea! I want a sister!
(Brian looks up at me)
B: I know buddy, Mommy and Daddy are working on it. We are trying to find just the right one.

Hopefully, sometime, we can add another beautiful child to our family. I think E would be happy with a sister or brother.

They might know more than we think!

Electronic devices, we use them everyday. Today it was as if they knew how I was feeling.  I had a pretty awful terrible  pitiful day. A lot of evaluating of situations and friendships, which I dislike any discord in (who does?!). So as E napped, I sat on my computer surfing and was listening to Pandora on my stereo. I LOVE pinterest, and was looking for some Easter centerpiece ideas, when these three quotes found me on my home page:

So powerful, right?! While I was being moved by these amazing quotes, Pandora proceeds to chime in. "Blackbird" by the Beatles plays. Brian and I are huge Beatles fans, and this song is the song synonymous with making light in dark times. I might have started crying. After "Blackbird" plays,  Ray LaMontagne comes on with "Let it be Me" one of my all time favorite friendship songs, then Noah and the Whale with "Blue Skies". How do you know Pandora?! HOW! I think that they might know more than we think :).  Here's to better days and blue skies coming. xoxox

The Mouse House

That's right, we just came back from a 6 day vacay. Where you might ask? The happiest place on earth! Walt Disney World. It was fantastic! People were so nice, everything was so clean, and E was very into it all. Every morning he would request to go see Mickey, and we sure did. It seemed as if a little Disney magic followed us everywhere. From getting front row seats to 3 different parades by chance, to having the amazing luck of having only a 5 minute wait to see the main mouse himself as we were leaving the park for the last time. I even found myself getting a little choked up at how excited E was. You could see the utter amazement in his eyes and smile. He would even sleep talk about the things that we did that day. I was so happy we left with a ton of great memories. Not to mention some great pictures! Enjoy! Get ready there will be a ton, and I have about 200 more! xoxox

Happy Birthday E!

It's officially E's birthday! He has been gearing up for today, all week. Yesterday, he was telling anyone who would listen that he was going to have a cake with two candles tomorrow. Gotta love it. He was surprised this morning with Brian and I walking into his room singing "Happy Birthday". We then went down stairs for breakfast, where the birthday boy was serenaded by The Beatles, "Yer Birthday" and requested some banana pancakes. We ate breakfast, sang, and danced! We then got ready to head out to The B&O museum. E has recently become obsessed with all things transportation, specifically Thomas the Tank Engine. We had a wonderful time at the museum and loved all the interactive exhibits for the kids (in all of us). It is really an amazing place. It was a lot of fun to see his face light up with excitement! Enjoy some pictures! I have to get cracking on that birthday cake! xoxo
